What you will need:
Intro: Today we are going to learn about communication skills. Why is it important that we communicate? How do we communicate?
The following games will help the group act as a team and make them communicate with one another. You can make it more difficult by allowing only one person to speak. After each game talk about how it could have gone better through communication. Have them talk things out. Do not step in and tell them how to do things. They need to figure it out. If it does get out of hand then yes please step in. Redo the game with their better understanding then talk about how it is similar to something like the media.
Games:
This is a great lesson if you have teens who do not get along. You may have to remind them that the task is not to combat each other but to work together to get the job done. The team is in a metaphorical boat and you don't want people hand drilling holes in it.
